If we all lived in caves we would age a lot more slowly. Yes, of course we would still age but our faces would be spared the ravages of sunlight. Ultraviolet damage causes most of the visible effects of aging, so if nothing else:-

One of the biggest problems in medicine is that everyone is looking for the answer.
The One Answer.
Everyone is looking for the one thing, the one cream, the one treatment, the one technology which will sort out everything. This patently does not exist.
“I really want a face lift but I don’t want any surgery.”
Sometimes what a patient wants and what we can do are just not compatible. However there is usually room for a compromise position.
Or more specifically about volume loss. Cosmetic medicine has fortunately moved on from simply dealing with lines and wrinkles. There is now a much deeper understanding of the way the face naturally ages and how volume loss plays such an important part in this process.
Do you want the good news or the bad news?
OK the bad news is creams don’t work.
The good news is that, that isn’t quite true.

People can spend hours in the gym working specific muscle groups aiming to tone and sculpt the body to a particular shape. The trouble is there are some parts of the body which are just your own personal fat stores. So much of what I do hurts. No it doesn’t hurt me but it is a little uncomfortable for the patients. I am sure that if it started to hurt me I would stop pretty quickly.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to offer something that was truly pain free? Perhaps something that was actually even nice to have done? It would still have to work though.
The sun is shining again, BBQs are out and in use. Skimpy tops and flouncy dresses are in abundance. The summer is here and the summer nights are long and warm. Perfect for relaxing in the garden till the late hours and wondering what to write about this month.
