Women place breast ops on Christmas lists

There has been a massive increase in women enquiring about breast surgery ahead of the festive period compared with the same time last year, figures show.

Mark Bury, chief executive of Surgicare, revealed that the number of enquiries has increased by 135 per cent, with more women than ever deciding to enhance their breasts in time for the New Year.

He suggested that looking good is a "physical defence" in times of financial hardship.

"Perhaps women are having breast enhancements to cheer themselves up as a result of the general depression gripping the UK at the moment, or maybe their appearance and self confidence takes precedence over their annual holiday or new car," he theorised.

The company has also noticed that many men have recognised the potential of gift vouchers as Christmas gifts.

Meanwhile, women who do not want invasive surgery can benefit from Macrolane, a non-surgical treatment that is carried out under local anaesthetic.

The body shaping treatment can be used to restore or add volume and to enhance the shape of the breasts and other areas of the body.ADNFCR-1112-ID-18943272-ADNFCR
