Actress Nicole Kidman has admitted that she will be spending the Christmas period in Nashville in the US as opposed to her native Australia, after her latest film came in for harsh criticism, according to news.com.au.

The star, who according to makemeheal.com has had rhinoplasty, lip augmentation and frequent injections of Botox, has opted for a family retreat after Baz Luhrmann's Australia was bashed by critics.

It will be a strange sensation for a woman used to positive criticism after starring roles in hits such as Moulin Rouge and Practical Magic.

She also starred in Eyes Wide Shut alongside former husband Tom Cruise, who makemeheal.com reports has had a nose job and cosmetic dentistry done.

Kidman is now married to Keith Urban and is believed to be planning to spend the festive period with her husband, her parents and her sister as well as with her baby daughter Sunday Rose.
