Skin care regimes can improve botox results

An expert has claimed that people who carry out a careful skincare regime are more likely to experience good results from cosmetic procedures than those who fail to look after their skin.

Although botox and laser procedures may be seen by some as a quick-fix solution for an ageing complexion, Dr Gary Monheit, associate clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, believes that good skincare can help to soften fine lines within a matter of months.

"The healthier your skin, the better your result will be - whether you're having botox or a laser procedure," the expert told Prevention.com.

According to the article, consumers should consider using sunscreen in the mornings to prevent visible signs of ageing, as well as a moisturiser containing peptides to hydrate the skin and stimulate the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

In the evenings, experts suggest using retinoids and an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) cream twice a week.

A combination of this regime and botox - which scientists at Court House Clinic have shown to actually reverse the ageing process of the skin - could leave your skin looking more youthful.ADNFCR-1112-ID-18913739-ADNFCR
