Fraxel laser treatment may reduce stretch marks

Experts have suggested that women with stretch marks may benefit from laser treatments such as Fraxel.

Stretch marks are narrow, streak-like lines that can develop on the surface of the skin of the stomach, buttocks and thighs, often after a period of sudden growth such as pregnancy.

Many dermatologists have found that laser treatments can help to reduce newly formed stretch marks.

However, Dr Mary Lupo has found that they can also be beneficial for older, more established stretch marks.

The dermatologist told WWLTV.com: "Once the stretch marks have that silvery or white colour, the only thing that I have found that has been successful is the Fraxel re:store laser.

"This is a non-ablative laser," she revealed. "There's no down time to the procedure [and] it can be used on all skin types."

The Fraxel re:store laser has been shown to be effective for photodamage, mild to moderate wrinkles, and acne and surgical scars.ADNFCR-1112-ID-18903633-ADNFCR
