There has been a huge increase in enquiries about Macrolane during the lead up to Christmas, one cosmetic surgery company has revealed.
Macrolane is an injectable treatment which can be injected into the breasts under local anaesthetic, enhancing their shape and making them look fuller.
The treatment takes less than two hours and the results can last for up to 18 months, although patients are usually advised to return for a top-up every year.
Mark Bury, managing director of SurgiCare, revealed: "In the run up to Christmas we see a rush of women trying to squeeze in a breast augmentation, usually to achieve party dress perfection.
"We are being told by our patients that this is the time of year they want to discard their bra so as not to be restricted to the style of party dress they want to wear."
Macrolane does not require a hospital stay and the results are instantly visible.
It can also be used to restore volume and shape to the calves and buttocks.
