People who have acne scarring can significantly reduce its appearance with the help of
Fraxel laser treatment, experts have revealed.
Fraxel re:pair laser treatment can be used to treat moderate to severe acne scarring and, according to dermatologist Dr Richard Eisen, is more safe and effective than ablative CO2 laser resurfacing, which is often used to treat the problem.
Dr Eisen, a leading expert in
Fraxel laser systems at the South Shore Skin Centre in Massachusetts, told the Daily Business News: "
Fraxel re:pair is an ideal treatment for acne scarring because it enables deeper penetration into the layers of the skin to erase acne scarring.
"
Fraxel re:pair is safer and more effective than traditional lasers. Patients will begin to see results after the first treatment," he revealed.
Around 80 per cent of teenagers experience acne between the ages of 13 and 18, but some suffer from permanent scarring if the problem is prolonged or particularly serious.
However, thanks to
Fraxel laser treatment, the scars need no longer be visible throughout the remainder of their adult life.
